The company was earlier anticipated to launch the Moto E3 smartphone in the country, however, it has launched its battery-focused smartphone instead - the Moto E3 Power. The company at the event also revealed that there are over 3 million Moto E users in India.

Samsung to customers: Stop using Galaxy Note 7 right away

                     

 Samsung Electronics is urging consumers worldwide to stop using 
Galaxy Note7smartphones immediately and exchange them as soon as possible, as more reports of the phones catching fire emerged even after the company's global recall.

The call from the South Korean company, the world's largest smartphone maker, comes after US authorities urged users to switch the Galaxy Note 7 off and not to use or charge it during a flight.

Several airlines around the world asked travellers not switch on the jumbo smartphone or put it in checked baggage, with some carriers banning the phone on flights.

In a statement posted yesterday on its website, Samsung asked users around the world to "immediately" return their existing Galaxy Note 7 and get a replacement.
They said:

"We are asking users to power down their Galaxy Note 7s and exchange them as soon as possible," said Koh Dong-jin, Samsung's mobile president. "We are expediting replacement devices so that they can be provided through the exchange program as conveniently as possible."

Samsung hints at a new life for Windows as an Android app

Samsung’s patent suggests a more interesting future: combining the most popular smartphone OS with the most popular PC OS, directly on the device. Even if it comes to pass, however, there will still be issues to solve. A key one will be performance, as virtualized apps usually don’t have access to the full slate of hardware resources otherwise used by the host OS, and thus run slower and less effectively. Still, millions of users continue to turn to PCs, rather than their Android devices, to get intensive work done. A virtualized Windows space would help narrow that gap.

“In this specification, the case where as an example, the first operating system is the android, the second operating system is the window (Windows) is shown,” the patent’s translation reads. But the patent also makes clear than any OS could be used, including Tizen, Linux, or MacOS.

The Samsung patent application, reported on SamMobile and MSPowerUser, covers all sorts of digital devices, according to Samsung: smartphones, tablet PCs, notebook computers, and more. (The patent, filed in Korean, was translated via the Korean Intellectual Property Office’s machine translation system.)

Lenovo India on Tuesday launched the Moto G4 Play budget smartphone in the country.
The smartphone has been priced at Rs. 8,999, and will be available via Amazon India from
10pm on Tuesday in Black and White colour variants.

The Moto G4 Play was first unveiled in May, shortly after the Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus
were announced for the country. Its siblings are better-endowed, a fact that also reflects in
the significant price difference. The Moto G4 is priced at Rs. 12,499, while the Moto G4 Plus
starts at Rs. 13,499.

The Moto G4 Play runs on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow, and like several other Moto
 smartphones, comes with a water repellent nano-coating. The smartphone bears a 5-inch
 HD (720x1280 pixels) display.

Reliance Jio MNP: How to Port Your Number and Get Jio SIM Card

Here's how you can use MNP to shift to Reliance Jio without changing
your number:

First up, you need to send a text message to your current operator requesting
for a port out. The message PORT should be sent to 1900. In return, you will
receive a Unique Porting Code  from1901 with 15 days validity from your
current carrier.

Head to any Reliance Mobile Store or retailer and fill up the Customer
Application Form (CAF) where you'll also fill in the porting code. Submit the
required documents (proof of address, proof  of identity and photograph)
, and in return Reliance will issue a new Reliance Jio SIM card. Once
